Schoolyard ("we", "us", "our") helps parents connect with other parents at their child's school. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Schoolyard, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, password, and (optionally) a profile photo.
Family details: the names and grade levels of children you add to your profile.
School memberships: the schools you join and any group chats you participate in.
Messages and shared content: text and images you send within group chats.
Technical data: basic device, browser, and log information needed to operate the service securely.

3. How we use your information

To create and manage your account.
To connect you with other parents at your school.
To deliver and moderate group chats.
To keep Schoolyard safe, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms.
To communicate important service updates.

4. Sharing

Your name, profile photo, and messages are visible to other verified parents in school circles you join. We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers (such as hosting and authentication infrastructure) strictly to operate Schoolyard, or when required by law.

5. Children's privacy

Schoolyard is intended for parents and guardians (18+). We do not knowingly create accounts for children. Information about your kids (such as first name and grade) is provided by you and is only used to help match you with other parents in your school community.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time, after which we remove your personal data, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and row-level access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your data.

8. Your rights

You may access, update, or delete your profile information at any time from Settings. If you'd like to request a copy of your data or have any privacy questions, contact us at privacy@parentpair.app.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use of Schoolyard after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
